Language Café

CouchEnglish Language Café are English-language meetings for people who want to practice communication in a natural way. These are not typical language courses, but relaxed networking & speaking sessions – one-off, themed conversations in small groups.

Each meetup has a specific theme, for example:

• Business & Work: Dealing with Pressure at Work, Teamwork Across Cultures, Leadership Challenges, Future of Remote Work, Books, Teamwork Across Cultures, Leadership Challenges, Future of Remote Work, Books
• Travel & Lifestyle: My Best Travel Experience, Cultural Surprises Abroad, Food Stories Around the World, Cultural Surprises Abroad, Food Stories Around the World
• Everyday Conversations: Work-Life Balance, Digital Life, Celebrations & Traditions, Mental resilience

How the meetup works:

• Meetings take place online (Zoom) and last 60 minutes.
• Before each session, participants receive a short survey with starter questionsto feel more confident and get prepared for the discussion

• Every meetup is run in a slightly different way to keep it fresh and engaging. It may include:

• • moderated group discussion around the chosen topic, with guiding questions,
  • pair or trio conversations - followed by volunteers sharing their insights with the whole group,
  • quiz or poll on Mentimeter/Kahoot – results immediately become the starting point for discussion,
  • interactive mini-exercises– such as speed networking, "2 questions – 2 answers”, or simple storytelling.
• Moderator (host) ensures comfort, direction, and a friendly atmosphere – they do not judge or correct, only support and encourage speaking.
